What is EzClass Teaching?EzClass Teaching is an organization that was founded in 2021 by three then-high school sophomores. It is currently operated by four rising seniors, three of us the original founders. We have gained experience in teaching interactive classes to a middle school-aged group over the past two summers, through teaching various classes which have changed year to year.

What classes do you offer? This summer, we will be offering two classes: one in Forensic Science and one in Robotics. Each of these classes is a six-day-long workshop, with two hour classes each day. The schedule for each class can be found here. For more information about our classes, including a detailed syllabus outlining the topic of each day of each class, visit our classes page here.
-
How do I register? You can register for both of our classes through a quick Google Form. Each class has a separate form, so make sure you fill out the form for the right class, or fill out both forms if you are interested in both classes. If you're registering multiple children, make sure to fill out one form per child. You can find the link to register for Forensic Science here, and the link to register for Robotics here.
-
What is the cost of the classes? We are proud to say that all of our classes have always been, and will always be, completely free! This allows us to reach the widest audience possible within the Hicksville community.
-
Who is eligible to register for the classes? Our classes are all tailored toward children in grades 6-8. However, we are willing to accept students slightly outside of this range who you think would be suitable for such classes; for example, if you have a very bright 5th grader. If you have any questions about this policy, feel free to email us at ezclassteaching@gmail.com.

Why should we trust you to teach our kids? For the past two summers, we have taught classes in a variety of subjects, including Computer Programming, Financial Literacy, American Government, Game Development in Python, and Forensic Science. Over the course of these two years, we have gained significant experience in teaching middle school-aged students, as well as learned to adapt our teaching styles and methods based on our observations of students in order to make our classes more interactive and engaging. To read more about each of us and our credentials individually, view the "Our Goals" page here.
-
Where will classes be held? All of our classes will be held at the Hicksville Public Library (169 Jerusalem Ave, Hicksville, NY). The classes will be held in the community room, located in the basement of the library.

What does my child need to bring to the classes?Robotics: If your child has a laptop that they can bring to class, this would be helpful to use for programming in Python. If they have a school-issued Chromebook, that's also fine, but personal laptops are preferred so that it will be possible to connect to the Raspberry Pi computers that we will be using in the classes. For students who don't have either, we will bring extra laptops to class, but we will only have a limited number of these. Forensic Science: Nothing!

What happens if my child cannot attend class on a particular day?If you know ahead of time that your child won't be able to attend class on some day, please mark this on the registration form or notify us by email or text. If your child is absent from multiple classes without us being notified beforehand, we may remove them from the student list and admit students from our waitlist, as we only have a limited number of seats. We do post our slideshow presentations after each class ends, and we would recommend that your child looks through it if they are absent from a class (although this will not account for the hands-on portions of each class).
